Jonathan is the founder of Experiential Capital Group, the owner/operator of The Neighborhood® brand of furnished and serviced apartments. As a visionary leader, he casts the strategic direction for the firm, ensuring its continued growth and success. He oversees all aspects of asset/property management, leasing, and business development, drawing upon his strong problem-solving skills and collaborative approach to optimize performance and drive value.
He has more than 15 years of experience, including a unique combination of work in tenant representation, asset management for a public REIT, and in CRETech. He continues to deliver innovation to the commercial real estate industry through the creation and adoption of new technologies and services.
Prior to forming Experiential Capital Group, Jonathan spent four years as Director of Asset Management for Equity Commonwealth (NYSE: EQC). While at EQC, his responsibilities included budgeting, managing the capital spend, and negotiated leases totaling over two million SF. During his tenure at EQC, he was responsible for over seven million SF of office and industrial assets at 19 properties in eight markets.
Jonathan spent the first 10 years of his career in tenant representation working at Cushman & Wakefield and Transwestern. He advised over 150 companies to negotiate office leases resulting in transaction volume in excess of 500,000 SF. His responsibilities included assisting tenants with site selection, lease renewals, lease restructures, expansions, relocations, and financial and strategic consulting.
Jonathan earned a degree in Journalism and Strategic Communications from the University of Kansas, is an Illinois Licensed Real Estate Broker, LEED AP, and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He is a commissioner for the City of Chicago’s Special Service Area (SSA 23) and committed to help strengthen each of the city’s diverse communities.
Jimmy brings a wealth of financial expertise and strategic leadership to the organization. Leveraging his understanding of market trends, financial management, and real estate operations Jimmy focuses on acquisitions, investment management, and executing effective financial strategies for the firm. Jimmy is committed to developing a cohesive financial strategy aligning with ECG’s overall mission and core values to deliver exceptional guest experiences and investment performance on behalf of our stakeholders.
Jimmy has over 12 years of real estate experience across asset classes including multifamily, office, industrial, and data centers. Prior to joining ECG, Jimmy worked in the Valuation and Portfolio Reporting group at Revantage Corporate Services, a Blackstone Company, focusing on a datacenter portfolio valued at roughly $15B. Additionally, Jimmy has over 6 years of experience working in office and multifamily asset management, most recently as a Vice President at Boyd Watterson Asset Management (BWAM). At BWAM Jimmy served as the asset manager on behalf of several institutional investors and was responsible for a portfolio of over 90 properties valued at over $1B.
Before his shift into asset management, Jimmy was a part of the FP&A group at Global Logistic Properties (GLP), formerly IndCor Properties, a Blackstone Company. At GLP, Jimmy performed financial analysis over a portfolio of 800+ properties totaling over 150 million square feet of industrial assets across the U.S. Furthermore, he had the opportunity to be a part of the 2014 Private Equity Real Estate Deal of the Year with the $8.1B private sale of IndCor Properties to GLP.
Jimmy spent the first three years of his career in the assurance group at KPMG LLP, leading engagements pertaining to public REITs and private equity real estate clients.
Jimmy received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a CFA Charterholder, Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of Chicago, AICPA, and ICPAS.
Matt plays a vital role in driving revenue and operational efficiency for The Neighborhood® brand, integrating its primary functions while managing day-to-day responsibilities and ensuring seamless implementation of the business plan. Recognizing the importance of a seamless guest experience, Matt takes a hands-on approach to operations, strategically implementing teams, systems, and software to ensure the smooth operation of the brand's tech-enabled hotels.
Matt’s primary functions include spearheading the development and execution of pricing strategies by leveraging market data and analytics to ensure competitive and profitable strategies; developing targeted marketing initiatives by identifying key customer segments and implementing campaigns to drive bookings and increase brand awareness; and streamlining operations by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
Matt's diverse background contributes to his success at The Neighborhood®. He gained management consulting experience at Huron Consulting Group and Civic Consulting Alliance, where he honed his analytical and problem-solving skills and built a strong foundation for strategic planning and operational efficiency. Matt has also spent time at REITs with his internship at Equity Lifestyle Properties and gained exposure to investment banking while working at Merrill Lynch. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and has a Master's of Entrepreneurship from Columbia College.
Jackson brings a strong background in real estate, finance, and asset management to the firm. As a member of the Asset Management and Investments Team, he plays a key role in acquisitions, investor reporting, financial modeling, and capital projects among other strategic initiatives. Jackson is dedicated to advancing a unified investment and asset management strategy that aligns with ECG’s mission and core values. With a focus on operational efficiency, financial performance, and long-term value creation, he works to enhance both guest experience and investor outcomes across the portfolio.
Prior to joining the firm, Jackson spent six years at Equity LifeStyle Properties (NYSE: ELS), a publicly traded REIT specializing in manufactured home communities. There, he was responsible for overseeing performance and financial strategy of the company’s largest portfolio, leading valuation and analysis efforts, and driving NOI focused initiatives across the platform. During his tenure, he gained broad exposure to a variety of asset types and markets nationwide.
Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Iowa, where he developed a strong foundation in market analysis and critical thinking. These skills support his work at ECG, where data-driven decision-making and strategic insight are central to delivering value for both guests and investors.
